Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract for the construction of a well tie-ins.
Canadian contractor SNC-Lavalin has been awarded a contract to execute front-end engineering and design (feed) works on the project. Scope of work includes:
Verifying conceptual studies and design,
Carrying out feed work to develop surface facilities needed to process production from the main plant and its north and south extension areas,
Execution planning,
Designing facilities to handle output from prospects close to Haliba.
The duration of the feed works is nine months, ending in September 2020.
Project design works are in progress on this scheme.
Oman-headquartered Galfar Engineering & Contracting has been awarded the EPC contract on this scheme. The value of the EPC contract is understood to be approximately $100m. The duration of the call-off contract is four years. As part of its contract, Galfar will perform EPC works to install well tie-ins and additional flowlines. Galfar is in advanced talks with UK oil and gas services provider Penspen for sub-contracting the engineering works on the project.
