Contractors are preparing to submit bids by 1 April, 2020 for a contract covering the construction of an expansion to Maqta Bridge. The prospective bidders include the local Agility Engineering & Contracting, the local/Belgian Six Construct Abu Dhabi, Beijing-based China State Construction Engineering Corporation, and Dubai-based Dutco. The contract involves building a structure between the two existing bridge spans.
Contractors have submitted bids for the main contract. Beijing-based China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC) has submitted the lowest bid of AED213m ($58m), which is about 13 per cent lower than the offer of AED245m submitted by the local Agility Engineering & Contracting. The local/Belgian Six Construct Abu Dhabi submitted a price of AED254m.
