Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract to expand the sulphur handling terminal.
Client has invited engineering firms to submit bids for the front-end engineering and design (feed) works. Prequalified firms have been set a new deadline of 23 January 2020 to submit technical bids for the feed works to expand SHT-1. The feed work includes:
Provision of Hail and Ghasha pipelines receiving facilities (2×100 per cent) pig receiving station along with sulphur pit.
Provision of three liquid sulphur storage tanks with respective capacity of 14,500 tonnes.
Provision of seven new granulators and associated conveyors to enable transfer to storage or directly to ship for export.
Provision of five granulator day vessels and one sulphur remelter.
Modifications to linear storage to include new stacker/reclaimer.
Increased utilities consumption with associated tie-ins and upgrades to existing utility systems.
Provision of new buildings (one substation, one operator shelter, one operation building).
ALEM upgrades to remaining existing infrastructure to facilitate another 30 years of design life, including MCC, control system and fire water network upgrades.
Demolition of select existing infrastructure to the battery limit of underside of baseplates.
Other potential works to be assessed in feed studies, for example, granulator technology assessment and selection.
Procurement of long lead items (granulators and stacker/reclaimer).
Technical supports and preparation to commence engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) tender during the feed stage.
The Feed works on SHT-1 plant expansion are expected to be completed 12 months from the contract award.
The value of the feed contract is estimated to be between $4m and $5m.
Bids are under evaluation for the FEED works contract.
Australia-headquartered consultancy firm Worley has been awarded the FEED contract on the project.
